BACKGROUND OF CHINA-AUSTRALIA YEAR OR TOURISM
China and Australia will organize “tourism year” jointly in 2017, which is an important decision made by both governments focusing on the developing relations between two countries, and fully reflects both governments’ emphasis and expectations on tourism exchange and cooperation of two countries. It also marks the bilateral tourist cooperation has developed to an unprecedented height and level. Especially in the background that two countries successfully signed and implemented China-Australia FTA in 2015, hosting “tourism year” together will effectively play positive role of tourism, and boost political, economic, cultural and other bilateral relations constantly, then make useful contributions for the sustainable development of China-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership.
MAIN EVENTS OF CHINA-AUSTRALIA YEAR OF TOURISM
Within this framework, China National Tourism Administration will carry out a series of promoting events on tourism exchanges and cooperation in 2017, such as the opening ceremony of “tourism year” in Sydney opera house on 5th February，2017, which will officially launch the tourism year; The closing ceremony of the “tourism year” held in China by the end of 2017; Continue to carry out “Beautiful China” tour in Australia; comprehensive advertisement of China tourism in Australia; inviting traveling salesman and media of each other to participate in educational visit, etc.
